Abstract
This chapter critically analyses the provisions on agriculture in the Unidroit-IFAD Legal Guide on Agricultural Land Investment Contracts. It uncovers the wide-ranging complexities of agricultural land investment contracts through the lens of the Global South. In doing so, it draws attention to the intersections of these contracts with the right to food, intellectual property rights and sustainable development goals. Underscoring the importance of inclusive and contextually appropriate agricultural systems, this chapter creatively constructs an analytical framework for promoting informed and responsible agricultural investments that advance national realities and interests.
